December 2019, outbreak of the Coronavirus. Who would have thought that Belgium would go into lockdown in March 2020. But here we are. We all work from home. Smart home electronics? Great! But not without any risk.

Smart home electronics are the future. We've decided to get us a smart washing machine. Within 5 minutes, it was connected on the home WIFI and configurable through an app. Great. We get notifications once the job is finished. We can start remotely. All nice to have.

But can we really trust these machines on our WIFI? Can they suddenly start by themselves and fund our water bill without us knowing about it? Crazy thought, but not unrealistic.

I know what to do! I will check every month the water meter ...... until a smart version is available.
